Perrone Robotics Celebrates the Launch of Detroit Connect Shuttle Service

We're thrilled to announce that the Detroit Connect shuttle service is now officially launched and operating! This marks a significant milestone in bringing an innovative and essential transit solution to the heart of Detroit.

The Detroit Connect service features a fleet of zero-emission, ADA-compliant Ford E-Transit vans equipped with Perrone Robotics' TONY autonomous vehicle kit. These vehicles are now navigating a 10+ mile route across downtown Detroit, representing a transformative step in urban mobility. This project aligns with our commitment to delivering safe, sustainable, and accessible transportation.

Currently, the service is in its initial phase, with route optimization and operational assimilation conducted under manual control. After a designated period, the system will transition to fully automated operations, with safety operators remaining onboard to ensure smooth functionality.

This groundbreaking service is a result of collaborative efforts with our esteemed partners: the City of Detroit, Bedrock Detroit, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Michigan Department of Transportation, and Michigan Central. We extend our deepest gratitude to all involved for making this vision a reality.

Join us in celebrating this achievement! Check out the CBS News story and video here, and track the live operation of the Detroit Connect shuttle here.

Perrone Robotics remains committed to pioneering advancements in autonomous vehicle technology, and we're excited to be part of this incredible journey with the Detroit community.
